Rob Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Contenders

Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the early candidates in the frame to replace the former manager as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was dismissed on the weekend after the squad's ten-game winless start to the Premier League season.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic associations to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

The manager is currently at another club, which would create a possible obstacle to his appointment at Molineux.

Nevertheless the ex- Luton manager - who made over a century of appearances for the club during his playing career - is said to be a strong candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is said to have support from the club board as they begin the search of appointing a new head coach.

O'Neil is also appearing as a unexpected contender, although he would be a shock appointment given he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham player is currently unemployed meaning the club would not need to provide any compensation.
