Previous BBC Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Grilling In the Wake of Claims of Partiality in Disclosed Document

Former British Broadcasting Corporation advisers appearing at MPs

We open with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that leads the panel.

She commences by giving context to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.

"I don't want the BBC tilting toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and equitable," he states.

In response to a query if he thinks the BBC is systematically partial, Prescott answers: "Absolutely not. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC creates is exceptional - including informative and fictional content."

Nevertheless, he states: "There exists real work that requires attention at the BBC."

Another previous consultant BBC specialist questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the BBC very seriously and that it operates a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted topics.

"Was the BBC prepared to have a genuine dialogue and argument and implement changes?" she questions. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
