Paceman Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Concerns.

The pace bowler added to England's injury problems after leaving the ground during Saturday's play of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

Atkinson felt a problem in his left leg after the final ball in his spell during the morning session.

The England team reported the 27-year-old reported "discomfort" and was to take time on the sidelines in order to be assessed "during the day".

The final Test of the series in Sydney begins at the end of the week.

England have been without key quicks one seamer with a knee problem and Jofra Archer because of a side injury during this series.

A replacement bowler was called up as injury reinforcement.

The seamer had a tough time in the opening two Tests, managing only three wickets.

He was omitted for the Adelaide match, then recalled for the fourth Test as Archer's replacement.

The county bowler performed better in the fourth Test, taking two wickets during the host's first knock, before adding 28 as a batsman being one of only three England players to reach double figures.

Following a brief spell at the end of day one, he returned the next day and had nightwatchman edging to the keeper.

However, towards the conclusion of that over, he bowled a slower ball to the batsman and promptly felt at his leg.
