Man That Touched Ariana Grande at Red Carpet Event Prohibited from Singapore

An Australian man who vaulted past a barrier and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was handed a penalty to over a week in jail for being a public nuisance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told local media.

The man shoved beyond security and approached aggressively the celebrity, who was attending the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on the thirteenth of November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in the past June.

The occurrence provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with several individuals claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has discussed dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her concert in the English city in spring of 2017 took the lives of 22 individuals and hurt numerous attendees.

Throughout the court proceedings, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the movie's debut twice, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to jump the barricades. Protection personnel prevented him and restrained him.

Wen later posted videos thanking Grande for letting him on the carpet and said he was "free."

Law enforcement took him into custody the subsequent day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was cited by a news outlet as saying that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was wrong to assume he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not spoken about the case.

The co-star discussed the situation to NBC, saying that she "only aimed to ensure my co-star was protected."

"I believe he didn't mean us harm, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I aimed to ensure that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she stated.
