Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

It said debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
