Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed game that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for embracing chaos and insanity with similar excitement, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose work have exemplified all of those things.

Show Details

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' structure by introducing a new setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX family continues to lift me up with their ongoing confidence and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone show. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of people through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, visionary approach to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
