Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions in 2025 as a result of a medical condition that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover before starting plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu required blood pressure checks during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her during parts of the season.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions late this year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
